Microimaging meets or exceeds ANSI/AIIM standards for archival quality
microfilm. We use Kodak silver halide film, 16mm 2.5 mil (215'), 16mm
4 mil (100'), or 35mm (100'). The majority of our conversion work is
done on planetary cameras to enhance image
clarity, but rotary cameras are also available.
Specialized rotary cameras can film unburst computer printout or other
continuous form documents. We have the ability to handle various document
sizes from engineering drawings to check size.
Our available microfilm formats include: Roll film, M-style cartridges,
microfiche jackets, and aperture cards. Hudson Microimaging has developed
a database software program to use as part of an automated microfilm
retrieval system. Each frame contains an electronic signal to identify
location on the microfilm roll. Whatever a client's specific retrieval
requirements may be, Hudson Microimaging can customize the database.
Sequential frame numbering is an alternative method of identifying filmed
images, to facilitate retrieval.
While documents are with us for conversion, they are a mere phone call
away. Our recall center is available 7/24/365 to retrieve and return
source documents, relay information via telephone, fax, or e-mail.
Confidential secure destruction of the paper documents after microfilming
is available.
Diazo duplicates are created as a high quality, durable use copy. Silver
duplicate copies are also available.
Hybrid solutions combining the 500-year life expectancy of microfilm
with the access advantages of digital imagery are available. Documents
can be microfilmed, the microfilm then digitized and the images output
to CD-ROM, DVD, or other electronic media.
If the information is already in digital format, Hudson Microimaging
can provide output to microfilm, either 16mm or 35mm, thereby creating
a disaster recovery or records retention copy in an analog format.
