Digitizing Microfilm: Hudson Microimaging specializes in scanning
35mm and 16mm microfilm. Utilizing state of the art technology, retrospective
microfilm collections can be scanned at resolutions from 200dpi to 600
dpi. Scanning output can be bi-tonal or gray scale images as needed
to provide maximum capture of information.
Direct Capture: Hudson Microimaging's digital conversion services
include bi-tonal, gray scale, and color scanning of: documents, photographs,
glass plate negatives, photographic negatives, and 35MM slides.
Images are output as Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) and derivative
formats such as Portable Document Format (PDF), Joint Photographic Experts
Group (JPEG), Graphic Interchange File Format (GIF) and others are available.
Images are indexed to facilitate retrieval. Indexing can include full
database creation, naming of images, electronic folders, or dirty OCR
with fuzzy logic. Access to collections can thus be enhanced.
Output is to CD-ROM, DVD or other electronic storage media appropriate
to the application.
Post-production services may include: image cropping, de-speckling,
de-skewing, manual clean up, etc.
Many clients opt to have Hudson Microimaging produce microfilm with
the intent to scan and index a collection at some point in the future.
This microfilm is produced for optimum scanning results.
